The Celtic Trinity knot is also called the Triquetra which is Latin for a three-cornered shape. Christians believed that the three points of the Irish trinity knot represent the three elements of the holy trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
However, the Celts believed that the most important things in life come in threes: the three domains (land, sky and sea), the three elements (earth, water and fire), the three stages of a woman’s life, plus many more. Celts believed that each point of the trinity knot symbolises one part of each of these important trios.
The trinity knot has also been known to symbolize life, death, and rebirth.
